1959 Home Run Derby Mickey Mantle (PSA 7) 1 of 3; Only 1 Graded Higher! In an effort to publicize the 1959 Home Run Derby contest, American Motors issued a 20 card set with each subject measuring approximately 3-1/4 x 5-1/4. Extremely eclectic, these black & white blank backed cards seldom surface, and as is the case with virtually every 1950s issue, the most coveted and valuable card is Mickey Mantle. With that in mind, presented here is a PSA 7 beauty of the Commerce Comet that synonymous with Mantles cardboard stature, resides as one of the finer specimens extant. To date, PSA has only encapsulated 2 other copies at this plateau with only a single example graded higher! Even more impressive is the well-centered unique Mantle batting pose accompanied by his good natured grin.
